Patna: Niraj Kumar of Patna beat Mukesh Kumar Singh of Samastipur 21-18, 19-12, 24-22 in the Men’s singles 60 final of the Hundred Bihar State Masters (Veterans) Badminton Championship at Gaya on Sunday.
In the men’s 55 final Pawan Kumar of Gaya beat Ravindra Prasad (Patna) 21-18, 15-21, 21-15 to win the title.
In the men’s doubles 50 final, Sanjeev Kumar (Patna) and Suraj Prakash Sinha (Patna) beat Pankaj Kumar Gupta (Gaya) and Vijay Gayab (Gaya) 21-13, 19-21, 21-13.
In the men’s doubles 55 final, Mukesh Kumar Singh (Samastipura) and Niraj Kumar Patna beat Jay Prakash Singh (Patna) and Sahab Kausar 21-19, 21-19.
In the men’s doubles 45 final, Narendra Kumar (Patna) and Pramod Kumar (Patna) beat Shafaq Nawab Khan (Patna) and Surendra Kumar 21-19, 21-19.
In the men’s singles 50 final, Sanjeev Kumar (Patna) beat Abhishek Kumar (Patna) 21-11, 21-14.
In the men’s doubles 40 final, Anuj Kumar Singh (Patna) and Ritesh Ranjan (Patna) beat Vijay Bhalotia (Gaya) and Vishal Anand 21-12, 21-14.
In the men’s singles 45 final, Shafaq Nawab (Patna) beat Parmod Kumar (Patna) 21-8, 21-11.
In the men’s singles 40 final, Nimish Kumar Singh (Patna) beat Prashant Kumar Chandra (Munger) 24-22, 21-4.
Vimal Vivek of Patna won the men’s singles 35 title as his rival Kumar Sandeep of Patna retired.
Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by Thyagrajan , District Magistrate Gaya while Mayan Warvade, Commissioner, Magadh Division, gave away the prizes. Bihar Badminton Association secretary K K Jaiswal was present on the occasion.
