New Delhi: RoundGlass Punjab Hockey Academy (RGPHA) raced into the finals of both Sub – Junior and Junior categories winning the semifinals in dominant fashion of the 1st Hockey India Men Academy Championship 2023 (Zone A) which is being played here at the Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium. The Junior team thrashed HAR Hockey Academy 15-0 to qualify for the finals while the Sub-Juniors beat Raja Karan Hockey Academy 9-1 to reach the summit match. Both finals will be played tomorrow.
In the second semis of the Sub-Juniors which was played in the morning, RGPHA opened their account in the third minute and continued to dominate the whole match. Inderjit Singh scored a hat trick for the side while Charanjeet Singh scored a brace. Amandeep, Samuel, Varinder Singh and Arshdip Singh completed the scoring for the winners.
In the Junior category, it was all one way traffic as RGPHA dominated the match from start to finish. Captain Gursewak Singh continued his fine run of form in the whole tournament scoring four goals to be the top scorer. Lovenoor Singh, Sukhjeet Singh Gaddu and Jaman Singh scored a brace for the side. Japnit Singh, Om Rajnesh Saini, Prince Kumar, Prabhjot Singh and Himanshu Bansal scored the other goals to complete the dominant performance.
