New Delhi: RoundGlass Punjab Hockey Academy (RGPHA) continued their winning run in the 1st Hockey India Sub-Junior and Junior Men Academy Championship 2023 (Zone A) securing dominating wins in both the Sub-Junior and Junior categories which is being played here at the Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium. The Sub-Junior side scored 31 goals past Salute Hockey Academy for their second win of the tournament. All 16 outfield players barring the two goalkeepers scored for RGHA in the dominating victory. Later in the day, the Junior Boys completed their third victory of the tournament in dominant fashion, beating Raja Karan Hockey Academy 13-0.
In the Sub-Junior category Amandeep, Sunny and Deepakpreet Singh scored four goals each while Jasmeet Singh scored a hat trick. Samuel, Arjandeep Singh, Charanjeet Singh and Inderjit Singh scored a brace while Anurag Singh, Aakash, Gurjot Singh, Arshpreet Singh, Damanpreet Singh, Sajan Rajbhar, Varinder Singh and Arshdip Singh completed the scoring for RGPHA. They scored seven goals in the first quarter, nine in the second, six in the third and completed the rout by scoring nine goals in the final quarter.
In the Junior category, RGPHA riding on a hat trick by Captain Gursewak Singh, completed the dominating performance. Lovenoor Singh, Joban Singh and Himanshu Bansal scored a brace for the side while Prabhjot Singh, Prince Kumar, Suraj and Karan Singh completed the scoring. The winning side scored three goals each in the first two quarters while scoring one in the third. They finished the last quarter in dominant fashion scoring six goals.
RGPHA Juniors will face Markandeshwar Hockey Academy in their last Pool B on Thursday, 7th December while the Sub-Juniors will play their final Pool B match against Ghumanhera Riser’s Academy on Friday, 8th December.
