Patna: Preparations are in full swing for the league cum knock out kho-kho for men to be organized at Acharya Shri Sudarshan Patna Central School from December 5 to December 9. Preparations have been started for everything from the formation of teams to playing in this league.
Giving this information, organizing chairman Shashi Bhushan Prasad said that a total of ten teams—Star India, HR, Daring Defenders, Challenging Chasers, Jubilant Jaguars, Golden Gladiators, Elite Eagles, Ageless Avengers, Brave Bulls, Fearless Fighters—will play in this league.
He said that a total cash amount of Rs 1,00,000 lakh will be distributed in this league. Along with this, players will be given tracksuits, a playing kit, and mat shoes by the organizing committee. He said that apart from trophies, individual prizes will be given to the winning and runner-up teams. Along with this, mementos and cash prizes will also be given to the best player of the tournament, including the best player of each match.
General Secretary of Kho-Kho Association of Bihar, Neeraj Kumar Pappu said that during this league, the shortcomings in Bihar Women’s Kho-Kho League will be rectified. He said that these teams are being formed by selected players on the basis of selection trials. The selection trial of the players has been done in the month of July and now the team will be formed from the same players.
He said that the League-cum-Knockout Kho-Kho for Men matches will be conducted as per the rules of the Ultimate Kho-Kho League. The successful conduct of the matches will be done by the national judges. For this, judges from other states have also been invited. Officials of the Kho-Kho Federation of India are likely to be present at the inauguration and closing ceremony of this league.
