Patna, July 23: Physical education, sports and yoga play an important role in the all-round development of children, said UNICEF’s education expert Dr Pushpa Joshi at the special training programme of physical education, yoga and sports for 300 physical teachers of secondary and higher secondary schools of Bihar. The training programme is being conducted from July 7 to 27 by the Bihar Education Project Council in collaboration with UNICEF.
Joshi, who came to attend the training of the fifth batch of the ongoing training program at Patliputra Sports Complex, while encouraging the trainees said that it is not possible to achieve the goals of education without creating an environment of sports, yoga and physical education in schools.
Meanwhile, instructor of this training program Abhishek Kumar, NIS athletics coach cum physical education teacher of Bapu Smarak Mahila High School explained in detail various dimensions and nuances of physical education including various rules related to athletics, track marking, operation to the trainees.
In the fifth batch of training, 50 physical education teachers of secondary and higher secondary schools of Nalanda, Nawada, Rohtas, Patna, Supaul, Muzaffarpur, Purnia and Siwan districts are participating.
Dr. S.A. Moin, former director SCERT cum consultant UNICEF, Dharamveer Kumar, Nishant Kumar, trainers W Kumar and Mrityunjay Kumar were also present during the programme.
