Bihar suffer 5th straight defeat in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

Patna: Bihar suffered their fifth consecutive defeat in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). In the match played on Monday, Odisha defeated Bihar by seven wickets.

In the match played at Sharad Pawar Stadium in Mumbai, Bihar won the toss and decided to bat first. With the help of Vipin Saurabh’s 31 runs, Raghavendra Pratap’s 34 runs, and Krishna Kumar Yadav’s unbeaten 21 runs, Bihar scored 118 runs for 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

Apart from this, for Bihar, Sarman Nigrodh scored 6 runs, Gaurav scored 6 runs, Sachin Kumar Singh scored 8 runs, Paramjeet Singh scored 2 runs, Abhijeet Saket scored 3 runs, Harsh Vikram Singh scored 2 runs. Captain Babul Kumar failed to open his account for the second consecutive match. Sakibul Gani also returned to the pavilion without opening his account.

For Odisha, Devabrata Pradhan took 4 wickets for 25 runs, Abhishek Yadav took 3 wickets for 20 runs, Govinda Poddar took 2 wickets for 9 runs, Tarani Sa took 1 wicket for 20 runs.

In reply, Odisha won the match by scoring 124 runs for three wickets in 18.5 overs. Captain Govinda Poddar scored 50 not out, Subranshu Senapati scored 44 and Abhishek Yadav scored 18 not out. For Bihar, Paramjit Singh took 2 wickets for 22 runs. Bihar’s next match will be against Sikkim on October 25.
