Notredam Academy take lead on the first day of Women’s Basketball League

Patna: The three-day Asmita Khelo India Women’s Basketball League got off to a grand start on the basketball court at the Patliputra Sports Complex. On the first day of the game, Notre Dame Academy took the lead by winning two matches.

Apart from this, Loyla High School, St. Michael’s High School, Trinity Global School also won their respective matches and entered the next round. Organized by the Basketball Association of Bihar under the aegis of Bihar State Sports Authority, courtesy of Khelo India, Sports Authority of India, the league was inaugurated by chief guest District Sports Officer Om Prakash and IIT Patna Sports Head Karunesh Kumar.

Giving this information, organizing secretary Vinay Kumar and Abhijeet Yadav said that 12 women teams of the district were participating in this three-day league. They were divided into two pools. The league would conclude on August 29 on the occasion of Sports Day.

Results:
St. Joseph’s Convent School, Jethuli beat Loyla High School by 31-22, St. Michael’s High School beat Tribhuvan School by 22-08, Notre Dame beat St. Joseph’s BSEB by 18-8, Trinity Global School beat Baldwin Academy 28-24 and Notre Dame defeated Tribhuvan School by 34-22.
