Lalu still critical but feeling better, says Tej Pratap

Patna, July 7: Discarding the rumuors that the body parts of RJD supremo have been locked, Lalu Prasad’s eldest son and former Bihar minister Tej Pratap said that Lalu Prasad is still critical but feeling a bit better than Wednesday. Talking to media, he said it will take time to recover as he had suffered three fractures. His shoulder has been fractured; he has minor fracture in waist and two fingers of his feet have also broken.

Lalu Yadav was flown to Delhi on Wednesday night by an air ambulance from Patna. He was admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi

Tej Pratap said: “You know fractures take time to heal. We are praying for his speedy recovery. At present there is no plan to take him to Singapore for treatment. When his condition becomes stable then will think for his further treatment in Singapore”, he said.

Replying to another query of scribes, Tej Pratap said: “He is not taking the food at his own, we are feeding him. He has strong will power and he will recover soon”.


Meanwhile, Lalu Prasad’s treatment has started at AIIMS, Delhi. The round of investigations continued throughout the day on Thursday. The reports of some investigations have arrived and some are yet to come. However, for the first time in the last three-four days, he has eaten khichdi on Thursday. He also talked to his family members, although doctors have advised him to take maximum rest.

Meanwhile, political leaders continued to visit AIIMS to meet him. Union minister Pashupati Kumar Paras, union minister Nityanand Rai, deputy speaker of Bihar Assembly Maheshwar Hazari and Rameshwar Chaurasia also met him. A spokesperson of National Lok Janshakti Party Shravan Kumar Agrawal said after meeting Lalu, union minister Pashupati Kumar Paras told him that doctors of AIIMS told him that Lalu Ji’s health is improving. Former MP and Jan Adhikari Party president Pappu Yadav also met Lalu Parsad.  At the same time, RJD workers have offered prayers at places of worship across Bihar including Patna, wishing him speedy recovery.
