Patna: The Super League matches of the Patna District Junior Division Cricket League began on Thursday. Two Super League matches were played on Thursday in which Alliance CC and Crescent CC registered victories.
At Jagjivan Stadium, Alliance CC defeated YCC by 47 runs while Crescent CC got a walk over against Kedia XI at Khemnichak Ground.
Six teams have qualified for the Super League, which is divided into two groups. Alliance CC, City Students Club and YCC have been placed in Pool A while Sharma Sporting, Kedia XI and Crescent CC have been placed in Pool B.
A league match was also played on Thursday in which SGGS College defeated Vidyarthi CC by four wickets.
YCC won the toss and decided to field first. Batting first, Alliance CC scored 143 runs losing all wickets in 25.2 overs with the help of Amit Kumar’s 50 runs. In reply, YCC team was all out for 96 runs in 27.3 overs. Harsh Raj of the winning team was given the player of the match award.
Vidyarthi CC won the toss at Mangal Talab Ground and decided to bat first and scored 58 runs losing all wickets in just 10.5 overs. Atul Chauhan scored 12, Abhishek scored 12 runs. 15 runs came as extras.
To chase down the target of 59 runs, SGGS College had to lose six wickets. SGGS College won the match by scoring 64 runs in 6 wickets in 10.4 overs. Mohammad Farhan scored 10, Md Neyaz scored 17, Mohammad Shahzad scored 10 runs. Raja Sheikh of SGGS College, who took three wickets for the winning team, was given the player of the match award.
