Patna: Akhilesh and Yashasvi excelled in the 3rd Freedom Fighter Rajeshwar Rai Memorial Prize Under-17 School Cricket Tournament sponsored by Anshul Homes at Anshul Cricket Academy ground on Tuesday. Both Akhilesh and Yashasvi scored half-centuries and helped their teams win match. Star XI and Gurukul Cricket Club won the matches played on Tuesday. Star XI beat Om XI by 47 runs while Gurukul Cricket Club beat Cosmo United by 123 runs.
In the first match, Star XI won the toss and batting first scored 231 runs for nine wickets in 22 overs. Akhilesh scored 70 runs. In reply, Om XI scored 184 runs losing all wickets in 22 overs. Vivek scored 74 runs. Mukesh Kumar presented the player of the match award to Akhilesh of the winning team.
In the second match, Gurukul Cricket Club won the toss and elected to bat first scored 208 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs with the help of Yashasvi’s 94 runs. In reply, Cosmo United were all out for 85 runs in 14 overs. Yashasvi was awarded the man of the match award by Purushottam Kumar.
