Jharkhand boys win bronze medal in Junior National Throwball

Ranchi: Jharkhand’s junior boys team won bronze medal in the 33rd Junior National Throwball Championship held at Una, Himachal Pradesh from May 12 to May 14.

Jharkhand junior boys’ team beat Bihar 25–03, 25-04, Madhya Pradesh 25–08, 25–18, Tamil Nadu 25–23, 25–14 and Orissa 25–03, 25–0 in their league stage matches and entered the pre-quarterfinals.

Jharkhand defeated Chandigarh 25–23, 13–25, and 27–26 in a hard-fought three-set match to book their place in the quarterfinals. In the quarterfinals, Jharkhand beat Mumbai  while in the semifinals, Jharkhand boys lose to Haryana 12-25, 17-25.

Jharkhand State Throwball Association president Dr Rajesh Gupta while congratulating the players said that the team made its place in the championship with its hard work, talent, and strategic spirit and won a bronze medal. Office-bearers of the Jharkhand State Throwball Association and many sports lovers congratulated the Jharkhand boys for their achievement.
