Patna: In the 5th Open Para Athletics International Championship being held in Bengaluru, Bihar’s athlete Shailesh Kumar won gold medal in the high jump (T42) event. With this, he qualified for the World Championship to be held from July 15 in Paris.
Giving this information, Director General of Bihar State Sports Authority Raveendran Sankaran said that Shailesh Kumar was preparing for this championship with a lot of hard work and dedication under the guidance of skilled coaches of the authority. Shailesh Kumar’s success is a matter of great happiness and pride for all of us, as well as very encouraging for all the players of Bihar.
Expressing happiness over winning the gold medal and being selected for the World championship, Art, Culture and Youth Department Minister Jitendra Kumar Rai, Secretary Bandana Preyashi, Director General of Bihar State Sports Authority Raveendran Sankaran and Director Pankaj Raj congratulated Shailesh Kumar and extended best wishes.
