Bihar emerge champs in Kehlo India women road cycling

Patna: Bihar dominated the Khelo India Women Road Cycling League on the last day of the race as well. Manju Kumari of Bihar won gold, Baby Kumari won silver and Riya Biswas of West Bengal won bronze in the senior category of 40 km Mass Starts on Sunday.

In the 24 km junior category, Bihar’s Gudiya Kumari won gold, Vinita Kumari won silver and Riya Roy of West Bengal won bronze medals. In the sub-junior category, Suhani Kumari of Bihar won gold, Shalini Kumari won silver and Sindhu Lata of Jharkhand won bronze in 16 km sub-junior category. With this, Bihar emerged champions scoring 39 points in this league. West Bengal team was declared the runner-up with 13 points.

Harpeet Kaur (IPS), DIG Special Branch, Tawisi Baghel Pandey (IFS), Regional Passport Officer Patna and Pankaj Raj (IPS), Director cum Secretary Bihar State Sports Authority gave away the prizes.

On this occasion, patron of the Cycling Association of Bihar Ramesh Chandra Dubey, executive president Vikram Aditya, treasurer Baijnath Prasad, SAI appointed supervisor Manish Kumar, Abhijeet Seth, coach AK Lewis, Shyam Kumar Jha, Md Armaan, Rohit Kumar, Tej Narayan, Mitali Mitra and Keshav Pandey were present on the occasion.
