Patna: Under the joint aegis of Muzaffarpur District Ball Badminton Association and Chitransh Sports Cell, Muzaffarpur, Raj Kumar Sinha Memorial State Level Youth Ball Badminton Championship began at Chitragupt Association Campus, Chhata Chowk, Muzaffarpur on Tuesday.
In the inaugural match of the boys’ section, Naugachhia Super Kings defeated Patna Capitals. 35-30, 35-29 and in the first match of the girls’ category, Patna Capitals started their winning campaign by defeating Naugachhia Super Kings 35-21, 35-22.
In the boys’ category, international players Ankit Kumar Sharma, Mukul Kumar, Md Saif Ali, Gulshan, Suraj of Naugachhia Super Kings and national players Ashish Ojha, Ravi Kumar, Rahul, Rohit of Patna Capitals performed well.
In the girls’ category, Kajal Kumari, Anu Kumari, Priya Kumari, Geeta Kumari, Bittu Kumari of Patna Capitals and Sakshi Kumari, Pragya Kumari, Pallavi, Abhilasha of Nauagachhia Super Kings performed brilliantly.
Earlier, Inspector General of Police, Muzaffarpur Pankaj Kumar Sinha (IPS) formally inaugurated the three-day State Level Youth Ball Badminton Championship by lighting the lamp and playing ball badminton. President of Grappling Wrestling Committee of Bihar, Kishlay Kishore was the special guest.
Secretary of Bihar Ball Badminton Association, Gouri Shankar was present on the occasion. Rajiv Kumar Sinha, secretary of Muzaffarpur District Ball Badminton Association welcomed the guests and Shailendra Kumar, president of Chitransh Sports Cell, Muzaffarpur, proposed a vote of thanks.
