Patna: The 38th edition of the All India Sukhdeo Narain Memorial Inter-School Cricket Tournament, a prestigious event not only in Bihar but across the country, commenced with great fanfare at Jagjivan Stadium on Sunday. This year’s theme is ‘Ek Ped, Rashtra Ke Naam’ (One Tree for the Nation).
The tournament was inaugurated by chief guest former MLC Ranbir Nandan, alongside Bihar Players Association president Mrityunjay Tiwari, Vijay Kumar, organising secretary Bijoy Kumar Narain Chunnu, and former Ranji player Vishnu Shankar. The event commenced with a ceremonial balloon release, and players took an oath of sportsmanship, attended by several dignitaries, including Mrityunjay Narayan, Rajesh Singh, and Sandeep Patil.
On the opening day, Dony Polo Public School and Gravity High School emerged victorious in their respective matches. Dony Polo Public School defeated Jesus and Mary Academy by 25 runs, while Gravity High School overcame Divine Valley International School by 5 wickets.

Jesus and Mary Academy won the toss and opted to field, inviting Dony Polo Public School to bat first. Piyush Kumar contributed 25 runs, and Mandeep Kumar Gyani received the Player of the Match award from organising secretary Bijoy Kumar Narain Chunnu.
