16 IPS officers face action for not filing asset declaration

Patna: The Bihar government is contemplating departmental action against at least 16 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers for not submitting a declaration of their movable and immovable properties by the stipulated deadline.

As per the existing state government rule, all ministers and officers have to submit list of their assets for yearly analysis, the deadline for which was February 29.

The state home department has written a letter to director-general of police (DGP) RS Bhatti to instruct officers concerned to upload their asset declaration. declaration. Earlier, on January 9 and March 5, the department had asked the DGP to issue notices to the erring police officers to declare their movable and immovable assets at the earliest to avoid any action. Referring to the orders of the general administration department, the letter stated that officers failing to submit their property details within a month were required to provide a clear reason for the delay.

According to sources, IPS officers Arvind Kumar, Jagmohan, Praveen Vashisth, ON Bhaskar, Hari Prasad S, Aditya Kumar, DS Sawlaram, Mohammad Saif-ur-Rahman, Shourya Suman, Shubham Arya, Vinit Kumar, Bhavre Dixit, Paresh Saxena, Shubhankar Mishra and two promoted IPS officers Madan Kumar Anand and Ashok Choudhary have not yet submitted their asset declarations.

The letter also mentions the possibility of initiating departmental proceedings against the officers if their asset declarations are not submitted within a month.
